A Letter From The Heart of the Webmaster

To God be all the glory for the 400+ subscribers on this blog. As Webmaster I want to personally thank you for your help in making this blog what it is today.

I do want to share with you that I am praying about this blog and the direction that God wants me to go with it. I have some ideas in mind but I want God’s direction and leadership. I want to do what He would have me do with this blog. I would appreciate it very much if you would be in prayer with me during this time.

I believe that God has gifted me to minister through blogging and technology and I am praying about how this blog can perhaps be made into a more personal ministry in which there would be more personal communication between you and I. Also I would like to see a personal Bible Study time here and offer you the opportunity not only to comment but to ask questions or help others. At this point I have no idea of exactly which direction this will go or if it will be God’s will. I just wanted to let you know what’s on my heart and ask that you be patient as I seek God’s will in this matter.

I have not abandoned this blog so if you don’t see new posts please just understand that I am researching ways to accomplish these things and most importantly seeking God’s will with this blog. I do welcome communication from you and you can email me personally at webmaster@fbcfc.org. I am not looking for advertising and I do ask that you do not send spam.

May God bless you and thank you very much for your support of this blog.

Sincerely,

Webmaster

You Must Be The Change – Step 3

2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version) – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

“YOU MUST BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD”

Step 3 – Turn from your wicked ways

Change! Some people can accept change and some cannot. Some people do well with change and some do not. One change that is difficult for most anyone is changing their ways, their habits, their wants, their language, what they view online or on television. However change must take place.

Luke 13:3 (King James Version) “. . .but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” In the Christian life when you repent, you make a complete turn around and turn from the things that you know are wrong. It may mean that you stop hanging around some of your “friends” that strive to live in sin, it may mean not going to see certain movies because of the language that may be in the movie or some inappropriate scenes. For some people change could be a major overhaul of their life but it is a must.

Acts 3:19 (King James Version) “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”

Ezekiel 18:21-23 (King James Version) “But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord God: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?”

Pride is often the worst enemy you face when it comes to change. America has thrown morality out and is fastly trying to throw God out as in your society today it is more important to be on top of the “social” ladder than whether or not your a Christian. It is more important what movie is showing that is popular, what is happening on Facebook or Twitter. The “gossip at the beauty shop” and the “gossip around town” is more important than spending time reading the Bible and praying. How sad that America is just a blink from becoming a pagan nation.

So what’s the answer? Is there really any hope left?

The answer is Jesus Christ! He loves you so much that He died on the cross for your sins and mine. His arms are wide open as He waits patiently for you to invite Him into your heart.

When you invite Jesus Christ into your heart there will be change in your life! Your life will never be the same again!

Are you ready to take Step 3 and be the change that you wish to see in the world?

You Must Be The Change – Step 2

2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version) – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

change

Step 2 – Seek My (God’s) face. What does it mean? It actually mean seeking the heart and mind of God.

This brings to my mind Luke 9:23 (King James Version) “And he (God) said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

When you give God your desires, your will, your entire being and lay all of your burdens at the feet of God then you are opening the path to your relationship with God in which you can find the will of God for your life. You will learn to desire to love like God and be willing to help those in need. There will be a passion in your heart like never before.

Seeking God’s face is an every day task that should be carried out. The desire to know God more and to love God more should burn in your heart and soul.

A great way to seek God’s face is through daily Bible study and prayer. God speaks to you often through your Bible study and prayer time. Also God speaks to you through worship with other believers. Seeking God’s face takes total commitment of your life and your all.

Are you hungry for God? Are you seeking God’s face?

You Must Be The Change – Step 1

change

As I read and thought about the above quote I could not help but think of 2 Chronicles 7:14.

2 Chronicles 7:14 (King James Version) – “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Now I am sure your wondering how in the world do the quote and this verse have any connection since they seem to be so different. Do they really? Maybe I can help by explaining my thinking.

“YOU MUST BE THE CHANGE YOU WISH TO SEE IN THE WORLD”

2 Chronicles 7:14 tells us that we are to humble ourselves and pray. Unfortunately in the present world today there is very little humility and a whole lot of pride. Social Media and Social Ladder status is extremely important in the present world times. It has become the total focus of the world. Change is not seen because there is no obedience. It is a constant struggle to survive now with the economic hard times and your now focusing totally on “you”. The first step of being the change you wish to see in the world is never taken because you can’t take any chances on the focus not being totally on you and your survival in a very economically depressed world. Unfortunately your forgetting that without God you can do nothing. John 15: 5 (King James Version) – “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.”

Jesus Christ is the vine, the most important part. If you put Him first and trust Him in everything that you are on your way to taking the first step to being the change you wish to see in the world. It is all how you spell JOY.

J – Jesus

O – Others

Y – Yourself

If you “humble” yourself and pray, step 1 is being completed. This is not an easy step by any means but it is a step that must be completed or there will be no change!

Isaiah: Chapter 1 Breakdown

Chapter 1
The corruptions prevailing among the Jews. (1- 9)
Severe censures. (10- 15)
Exhortations to repentance. (16- 20)
The state of Judah is lamented; with gracious promises of the gospel times. (21- 31)

Isaiah 1:1
Vs. 1- 9. Isaiah signifies, “The salvation of the Lord;” a very suitable name for this prophet, who prophesies so much of Jesus the Savior, and his salvation. God’s professing people did not know or consider that they owed their lives and comforts to God’s fatherly care and kindness. How many are very careless in the affairs of their souls! Not considering what we do know in religion, does us as much harm, as ignorance of what we should know. The wickedness was universal. Here is a comparison taken from a sick and diseased body. The distemper threatens to be mortal. From the sole of the foot even to the head; from the meanest peasant to the greatest peer, there is no soundness, no good principle, no religion, for that is the health of the soul. Nothing but guilt and corruption; the sad effects of Adam’s fall. This passage declares the total depravity of human nature. While sin remains unrepented, nothing is done toward healing these wounds, and preventing fatal effects. Jerusalem was exposed and unprotected, like the huts or sheds built up to guard ripening fruits. These are still to be seen in the East, where fruits form a large part of the summer food of the people. But the Lord had a small remnant of pious servants at Jerusalem. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed. The evil nature is in every one of us; only Jesus and his sanctifying Spirit can restore us to spiritual health.

Isaiah 1:10- 15
Vs. 10- 15. Judea was desolate, and their cities burned. This awakened them to bring sacrifices and offerings, as if they would bribe God to remove the punishment, and give them leave to go on in their sin. Many who will readily part with their sacrifices, will not be persuaded to part with their sins. They relied on the mere form as a service deserving a reward. The most costly devotions of wicked people, without thorough reformation of heart and life, cannot be acceptable to God. He not only did not accept them, but he abhorred them. All this shows that sin is very hateful to God. If we allow ourselves in secret sin, or forbidden indulgences; if we reject the salvation of Christ, our very prayers will become abomination.

Isaiah 1:16- 20
Vs. 16- 20. Not only feel sorrow for the sin committed, but break off the practice. We must be doing, not stand idle. We must be doing the good the Lord our God requires. It is plain that the sacrifices of the law could not atone, even for outward national crimes. But, blessed be God, there is a Fountain opened, in which sinners of every age and rank may be cleansed. Though our sins have been as scarlet and crimson, a deep dye, a double dye, first in the wool of original corruption, and afterwards in the many threads of actual transgression; though we have often dipped into sin, by many backslidings; yet pardoning mercy will take out the stain, Psalms 51:7. They should have all the happiness and comfort they could desire. Life and death, good and evil, are set before us. O Lord, unequaled all of us to live to thy glory.

Isaiah 1:21- 31
Vs. 21- 31. Neither holy cities nor royal ones are faithful to their trust, if religion does not dwell in them. Dross may shine like silver, and the wine that is mixed with water may still have the color of wine. Those have a great deal to answer for, who do not help the oppressed, but oppress them. Men may do much by outward restraints; but only God works effectually by the influences of his Spirit, as a Spirit of Judgment. Sin is the worst captivity, the worst slavery. The redemption of the spiritual Zion, by the righteousness and death of Christ, and by his powerful grace, most fully accord with what is here meant. Utter ruin is threatened. The Jews should become as a tree when blasted by heat; as a garden without water, which in those hot countries would soon be burned up. Thus shall they be that trust in idols, or in an arm of flesh. Even the strong man shall be as tow; not only soon broken, and pulled to pieces, but easily catching fire. When the sinner has made himself as tow and stubble, and God makes himself as a consuming fire, what can prevent the utter ruin of the sinner?

66 Chapters vs 66 Books of the Bible

isaiah_minDid you know that there are 66 chapters in the book of Isaiah? There are 66 books in the entire Bible. Does this have any significance? In order to answer this question I searched the internet and read notes in two study Bibles. I found a different view on the subject but did not find concrete facts that would prove any significance of 66 chapters and 66 books. Some believe that the book of Isaiah’s 66 chapters is the entire Bible in a miniature form. Some do not believe there is any connection.

There are times that you will find the same verse in the Bible more than one time. An example is Matthew 16:24 (King James version) “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” Luke 9:23 (King James version) “And he (Jesus) said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

As you can see Matthew 16:24 and Luke 9:23 are very identical. When Jesus repeats Himself, we know what He is saying is important and we need to listen and obey. There are other places in the Bible that Jesus repeats Himself and because some of the verses in Isaiah are similar to other verses in the Bible, the theory was started that this is significant and that the book of Isaiah is really the whole Bible in miniature form.

I wanted to introduce this theory because I am very interested to find the answer myself. I will be researching and asking for God’s direction in this matter and it is my prayer that you will pray with me and for me and research this with me. I’d love for you to share your findings with me and let’s discuss them here at FBC Bloggers For Jesus.

Be watching, praying, researching and share your findings. God bless you and your family!

In The Beginning Was The Word

John_1-1_minJohn 1:1 (New Living Translation) says, “In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

John 1:1 (New American Standard Bible) says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

I have included two different versions of the Bible here but as you can see they are similar. The Bible is clearly the Word of God and is without error.

Why is the Son of God (Jesus) called the Word? It seems to be that as our words explain our minds to others, so was the Son of God (Jesus) sent in order to reveal His Father’s mind to the world.

Through the Bible, Jesus asserts His existence in the beginning, His coexistence wit the Father. The Word was with God. All things were made by God, and not as an instrument. Without God was not anything made that was made, from the highest angel to the meanest worm. This shows how well Jesus was qualified for the work of our redemption and salvation.

The light of reason, as well as the life of sense, is derived upon Him. This eternal Word, this true Light shines, but the darkness comprehends it not. It should be your prayer that your eyes may be opened to behold this Light, that you may walk in it; and thus be made wise unto salvation, by faith in Jesus Christ.

The Bible is all that you need! Before you begin to read the Bible, take a moment to ask God to speak to you and help you understand what your reading and apply it to your life. One thing that I find useful is using a “Study” Bible. I have a King James version Study Bible and a New International Version Study Bible. The King James version is the original translation of the Bible. I use the New International version because in certain verses the wording in the New International version is easier to understand.

I am providing a link in which you can read the Bible through your computer for free and you can choose the translation that you want. You  also can see two versions of the Bible side by side and this may help you understand better. Go to https://www.bible.com/. Also I like to use a commentary to help me understand what I read in the Bible. There is a good commentary available to you through your computer. Go to http://www.biblestudytools.com/.

It is my prayer that this will be a big help to you. Bible study is very important and it is just as important that you know what the Bible says because it is the Word of God and that is how you get to know God.

God bless you and thank you for taking your valuable time to visit FBC Bloggers for Jesus!

The Cross!

Cross_Sunburst_minThe crucifixion cross which is what Jesus was crucified on has historical meaning due to the fact that crucifixion was a real, historical method of execution. The cross was viewed as an instrument of death and was used by the Greek and Roman empire to execute thousands of criminals and captives. Treason, desertion, robbery, piracy, assassination and other such crimes were punished by crucifixion on a cross.

Now what does the cross mean?

  1. The cross reconciles (pays) your debt. Romans 6:23 (King James version) “For the wages (payment) of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 5:12 (King James version) “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin, and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Ephesians 2:14-16 (King James version) “For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us, Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace: And that he (Jesus) might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:” Any way you look at it, you and I are not worthy of having an opportunity to spend eternity in Heaven. However God loves you so much that He gave Jesus, His (God’s) only son as a sacrifice for you and your sins.
  2. The cross is where God does all the work! Matthew 20:28 (King James version) “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his lie a ransom for man.” The sin debt has been paid in full by the blood of Jesus! Only Jesus could win the victory over death and the grave by His death on the cross. You could not take death on a cross and Jesus knew that and loved you so much that He willingly made the ultimate sacrifice by dying on the cross for your sins.W
  3. The cross demonstrates the power of God to save us! 1 Corinthians 1:17-19 (King James version) “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.” The crucifixion of Jesus is the foundation of all your hopes, the fountain of all your joys. And by his death you live. The preaching of salvation for lost sinners by the sufferings and death of the Son of God (Jesus), if explained and faithfully applied, appears foolishness to those in the way to destruction.

When you look at the cross, try to picture yourself nailed to the cross, nails driven into your hands and feet. Imagine having a crown of thorns pressed down on your brow. Imagine a sword piercing your side. Could you go through such a cruel form of punishment, be buried and rise again in three days? NO! NO! NO! Only Jesus Christ has the power to overcome the cross, to overcome the grave, to overcome sin. When you look at the cross imagine a big, big, big heart nailed to the cross because God loves you so much that He made the ultimate sacrifice for you to have opportunity to be saved and spend eternity in Heaven.

If it were not for the cross then you would have absolutely no hope at all and you would be destined to burn eternally in Hell. I really want to encourage you to think about the cross. Thank God for the cross daily and for sending Jesus to die on the cross to pay the debt for your sins.

John 15:5 (King James version) “I (Jesus) am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me (Jesus) ye can do nothing.”

If the cross does not mean anything to you then you are not saved and you are destined to burn in Hell for all eternity. You can make the choice now to accept Jesus as your Savior! I can tell you from experience that it will be the best decision you will ever make. I am amazed at how much more I want to know Jesus every day.

Below are the lyrics to a song entitled Open Our Eyes Lord. I challenge you to not only read them but to make this the prayer of your heart!

Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch Him
And say that we love Him.

Open our ears Lord
And help us to listen,
Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus.

Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch Him
And say that we love Him.

Open our ears Lord
And help us to listen,
Open our eyes Lord
We want to see Jesus.

Why Should You Study The Bible?

bible wallpapersIt is commanded!

2 Timothy 2:15 (King James version) “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Ephesians 6:11 (King James version) “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles (a trick or stratagem intended to ensnare or deceive; a beguiling or playful trick; skill in outwitting) of the devil.”

Matthew 4:4 (King James version) “But he (Jesus) answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”

It is necessary for spiritual growth!

1 Peter 2:2 (King James version) “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:”

  1. Read your Bible daily.
  2. Meet together with other believers regularly.
  3. Get involved in a ministry group.
  4. Pray daily.

So that you can learn to teach the Bible to others.

Hebrews 5:12-14 (King James version) “For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

When you ready the Bible and study it you will learn more about God and in learning more about God you will hear God speak to you through the Bible. The Bible is important as breathing is important because just as breathing is essential for life, the Bible is also essential for life. The Bible is God’s Word that contains instructions, wisdom, parables, miracles, encouragement, comfort, promises and much more!

If you want to learn about God and develop a deep love for God and the Bible then I encourage you to read your Bible daily, study it and see how God speaks to you. It is the best thing that could ever happen to you!
